News: Attendance in Argentine cinemas remained stable in October

Approximately 2,640,000 tickets were sold, a figure similar to that recorded in the tenth month of 2022.

After several months with significant increases, the Argentine box office stagnated during October, with tickets sold almost the same as in the same period in 2022, according to data from the consulting firm Ultracine analyzed by OtrosCines.com. The overall consumption crisis and the electoral period may be factors that explain this low turnout.

In any case, in the year so far, the figures have been positive: between the beginning of January and the end of October, 38.5 million tickets were sold, compared to 33.5 million in the first ten months of last year. These additional 5 million seats represent a 15% year-on-year increase. In addition, it means that during the month of November the 40 million spectator barrier will be crossed and the film industry will have recovered much of what was lost during the pandemic.

The top 10 most watched titles so far in 2023 are:

1- Barbie: 3.525.638
2- Super Mario Bros Movie: 2.974.045
3- elements: 2.587.475
